Another Day Another Semester

Another semester of Uni, can't believe I'm still there! But, I'm not gonna think or talk about it, heads down and just do it!

I've got some new ideas coming up, sort of like a mid year resolution
1. Start cooking (again), got to start eating healthy, and cooking is always fun - shall have some recipes and def some pictures to come soon
2. Giving the tech program a new format, I've already changed the theme/intro bit, I'm thinking of adding a more masculine touch to the program, MAN it up a bit.

So much for starting strong for uni - by midday, half the people had gone home, and the other half wandered off to the gym. Like a model student I stayed for the 2 hr lecture! but it led to nothing but ridicule and taunting at the gym afterwards! I can handle it, I know my books love me...

I know my recent posts (or lack thereof) have been very superficial and filled with lists of "things to do". Nobody likes lists, they are boring..I understand, but the truth of the matter is I don't have an eventful enough REAL life to maintain an interesting ONLINE life.
I am surprisingly a participant in this whole online community idea, I actually do have myspace, facebook and what not, just not a very active participant.
"Do you have a myspace?"..."yes, but I don't do anything to it..."
"Do you use facebook?"...."yes/no...I was forced to make one, but there's nothing on it, I didn't even put my real name man...I'm not Daniel Henney..."
Maybe I should start taking it a bit more seriously...since it is the chic thing to do these days!

But all things aside, there will be a 'deeper' post to come (promise? perhaps), but that will come when I find something decent to ponder, rant or discuss about.

And I'll leave you with this video, its hilarious! I really wonder why they did it, do they really have that much free time on their hands? The lead guy is a champion, he's really put time, effort and heart into the performance, and the chick..is just...its not a chick. Its awesome! cracks me up!

Its been a long time coming

Ok, so I lied...my last post was in March, and its July now..how many months is that? you can do
the math!

Just finished a semester of uni...I won't go into 'uni', cos I'll get very emo...

Its not gonna be a very entertaining post, so I'll just do an update:

What's been going on?
- "Hunter" Youth Program with Zuki is magic; updating myself on HK celebs and entertainment news, my chinese is improving steadily (not much atm, haven't spoken it in like a month..and I'm goin bak again tomorrow, pretty fuked for that)
- Tech Show; is also goin swimmingly...the sad thing is, everyone who calls my mobile phone, will know after 2 minutes, it will automatically cut them off, and shut down - yet I do a tech show, and I don't have any new phones to recommend myself (nor have I gotten any free phones for myself...diu)
- FOB CELEBS: Talked to Raymond Lam, Yeung See Kay, and Mung Gar Wai (of TVB) when they came over for a TVB promotional event
Plenty of Photos, ripped off a poster from a wall to get it signed by them (got my ass absolutely toasted for doing that).
- Its just been assessments, exams, more assessments, and more exams till the end of semester; I can finally rest...but I've got nothing to do! bored as! I know there's Stocktake Sales but I haven't had time to harrass it yet! But yeah, if anyone has stuff to do feel free to call me - save me from this boredom!
- Transformers the Movie was kickass! I'm the type of guy who roots for the bad guys, the decepticons have the best vehicle modes, F22 Jets, Tanks, Police Cars etc (who in their right mind would choose a State Emergency truck? blardy autobots!). Thank god Bumble bee was a Cheverlot Camaro and not that piece of shit of a VW Beetle! The cinema was filled with geeks; choc-o-block filled with geeks...had two sitting to my right, who started dissing the main character "dude, that guy can't talk to girls for shit!" - mate, I can guarantee those two cannot do any better! absolutely guarantee...they snort laughed after they said that, what the fuk?
- Getting into N.E.R.D and Gorillaz again, always liked them + I'm playing alot of Tony Hawk Skateboarding, on the..you guessed it, PS1 - its a dinosaur!

What's to come?
- Bro is coming to Sydney next week with the fiance! - should be fun!
- Bro is getting married next October (2008), and he's already stressing himself out about it - chillax, there's like a year+ worth of time....
- Thailand trip got canned (blardy wynlove), so making plans to head to Japan/HK at the end of the year. Still planning it; if anyone wants to go, give me a shout!
- Crystal is having her 22nd Bday, but I'm dogging it..cos of the Bro's arrival; I'll get her something nice later
- Goin back to 2ac tomorrow to do Hunter and Tech; 11:26pm, Co-host just got back from the snow, so no entertainment news! Just thought of recording Tech tomorrow, so no tech news atm either! spontaneity allows me to show off the creative flair!

Nice surprise, nothing better than the boss giving tickets to a soccer match!!

Sydney FC vs Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds

Was a very last minute thing, maybe it wasn't intended for me - but hey, I got the tickets anyway! It was so last minute, most people ditched the offer to go, receiving a plethora of rejection sms's and calls, such as:

Roy "Nah dude, I've got an exam tomorrow...which I haven't studied for" - it was an online exam....
The end result:

Sydney FC 2 and Red Diamonds 2 - it was a draw!!

But the Japs had it going! massive fan base!
whilst the Sydney side...really didn't give a shit! haha
(Yeah, I know that's a Korean Fan from the World Cup a few years back)

Decided to go back to the radio station and record the Tech Show on Saturday, since my co-host decided to NOT TURN UP on Friday...
But that 'not turning up' led to beautiful things, evidently more bonuses and freebies - tickets to the Rainie and Show Concert at the Entertainment Centre (Sat 24th March!).

(Once again I don't know who they are!...I've heard of them, I was even suppouse to interview them on Wednesday - but their royal highnesses decided to not show up!).
Since the company has connections, we had the most beautiful seats in the building - VIP ($400) seats, directly infront of the stage!

Anthony Callea pulled a Lance Bass!!
POP singer Anthony Callea has ended years of speculation by confirming he is gay.
The Australian Idol star said yesterday he has reached a point in his life
where he is comfortable enough with himself to reveal his sexuality.
"Yes, I am gay," Callea said yesterday."I have no issue with my sexuality now, but it's taken time to become confident with who I am and happy with who I am."

Its Been too long

Its been more than a month since my last post, but I'm confident the posts will be longer and come more regularly (talk about a sexual innuendo)

So what's happened during the month?
- Uni started...won't get into that, apart from the first years are straight fire - and that I feel wrong for thinking/saying that...the age gap...damn, are they even legal yet?
- Re-decorated my whole place, gotta go look for things to fill up the empty spaces!
- Working on a new campaign with several client, still negotiating the finer details of the contract, so can't expose anything just yet.
- Started two shows at the Radio Station; a youth program with a foxy thing called Zuki, and my own one about the latest Technology eg mobile phones, mp3 players, games and the like (not my most favourite topic to talk about...but if I want to keep my job, I'd best shut the fuk up)
- Got told off by my boss for not looking 'cool' enough at work....who knows what you look like when you're in radio? - but still, its time to pimp my style!
- Found out the girlfriend is a scrag....she always has been, but before it was just a cute nickname "you're such a lil scrag hunnie"

What's to come?
- A shit load of uni work....usual, but actually gotta get down and dirty this year!
- Going to melbourne at the end of the month! abusing the Bro's place to the fullest
- Checking out flights, organising people everything for the end of year Thailand Trip! Boo Yeah! Gotta check out some trannies! and buy an Asian Island for $2.50! Anyone who wants to come just give me a shout!
- Gotta work my ass off to save up for this trip!
- Roy the filo, actually got me thinking about Archery again - but he wants to be "Legolas" (from lord of the rings, what a geek) whilst I just wanna go kill something!
- CK's Bday is the only thing that's about to happen and that's in Mid April, the social life is aghast! comes with age...

That's about it for now, might be back in like a month though....until then, I'll see you when I see you!

New Job/StarCity - Celeb!

I remember saying I was looking for a new job, ontop of my current Advertising/copywriting gig, and here it is, possibly the fobbiest thing I have ever done and admitting to - I'm a part-time radio DJ at 2ac Australian Chinese Radio! haha (yeah, I'm prepared for the fob jokes....bring it!). I'm always up for a challenge and new adventures of sorts - plus its a good opportunity to brush up on my cantonese (really not up to scratch) and get up to date with what the Asian entertainment/media world has to offer! New place, new things to learn!

But, one of the many perks of my job is the opportunity to meet, greet and interview Overseas Asian/Fob Celebrities and luckily get paid for it aswell!

As much as it is part of my 'job description' to know who is coming and what is going on. I'm a tad curious about the identity of the 'celeb' wearing white sitting in the middle, I have no idea who he is! Clues include: Taiwanese male, last name is Huang (Wong), has made 15 albums in Taiwan, infamous for his 'love ballads and slow jams', and has been in the business for 10+ years....

I took the opportunity to ask a ridiculously hot chinese girl (so so hot!) who was ever so conveniently next to me (ok, I had to push past two old guys to talk to her) the same question. I think she was a reporter of some sort, she wasn't sure but was determined to find out aswell, loved the determination in her eyes! straight fire! she walked around and asked at least 10 people, when she came bak she STILL didn't know! Good effort! and thanks for coming.

But props to Richie Jen and his mate Huang (Wong) for coming to the Star City Conference Room for an intimate interview.

Richie Jen (left), Wong something (middle)

Managed to take a few more pics, not that I'm particularly thrilled, but its a celebrity sighting regardless.

Richie Jen Concert StarCity 17th Saturday and 18th Sunday of February 2007. (I have Free Tix peoples!) - I can feel myself getting more and more Asian...is that a bad thing?

Joke of the Day:

A woman was shopping at her local supermarket where she selected:

a half-gallon of 2% milk,
a carton of eggs,
a quart of orange juice,
a head of romaine lettuce,
a 2 lb. can of coffee,
and a 1 lb. package of bacon.

As she was unloading her items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk standing behind her watched as she placed the items in front of the cashier.

While the cashier was ringing up her purchases, the drunk calmly stated with a little slur in his speech,

"You must be single."

The woman was a bit startled by this proclamation, but she was intrigued by the derelict's intuition, since she was indeed single. She looked at her six items on the belt and saw nothing particularly unusual about her selections that could have tipped off the drunk to her marital status.

Curiosity getting the better of her, she said, "Well, you know what, you're absolutely correct. But how on earth did you know that?"

The drunk replied, "Cause you're ugly."

2007 Return of the Mack!

Have I neglected this blog or what! (3 posts in the whole year of 2006)...but here I am, like a faded popstar's comeback special - I'm back and better than ever! and similar to them I'm trying to prove to the world once more I am not old and out of the circle. I'll try and blog more frequently this year.

2007 has come in with a BANG (2007 is gonna ROCK!) had a good mix of Xmas Eve parties, Xmas Day house events with beloved, pre-new year clubbing, post new years drinking nites and post post new years drinking nites to bring in 2007, not a bad start.

In a few days time its Chinese New Year! The Year of the Pig! CNY is on the 18th, but "Chinatown" has already started "woking" the party. Asians do it better!

I don't have much to say, given its the first post! But, wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Hai Fat Choy! Gong Xi Fa Chai! and the chain of other stuff you're suppouse to say during the New Year.

To finish off the entry, this is genius! *High Five*
